This is a brand new blog, started today!!  I’ve discovered tangling, zentangles, (Note: The Zentangle® art form and method was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas and is copyrighted. Zentangle® is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc. Learn more at  zentangle.com) mandalas, and am learning a whole new language as a result.  For my very first blog entry, I want to showcase two pieces of art which I am entering in the I am a Diva Challenge.  This is challenge #68, and the challenge was “Duo-tangle, Hibrid and Strircles”.  I did two of them, and this is my first entries into this challenge.  Here they are:

This was the first one I did.  I finished it, and thought it was a little bit boring!  The tangles are okay, but I didn’t like my strings very much.  However, one of the nice thing about tangling is that’s there’s no such thing as a mistake.  Even if all you do is learn from what you didn’t want, it’s worth doing.  So I continued on, did two or three more with colored backgrounds, and finally hit on one I liked enough to post.

Here it is:

For this one I took a previously colored background, added circles using a wine glass for a template, (second best use for a wine glass)  and using those for strings, I tangled Hibrid and Strircles with variations.  Hope you like it.

If you ended up here, and you don’t know what a “zentangle” or “tangle” or a “string” is; come back in a day or two, and I’ll have written a post explaining the concept as best as I can.  For immediate knowledge go to www.zentangle.com.  That is a web-site owned by Rick and Maria, the inventors and owners of the patent for zentangles.  There is a wealth of information there if you are interested.  For a list of many, many tangles (what a zentangle is made of) go to www.tanglepatterns.com.  This website is owned and maintained by an enthusiastic tangler, named Linda Farmer, and contains detailed instructions on how to draw many, many tangles.

Also, if you do tangle already, and are interested in joining this challenge, go to http:/Iamthedivactz.blogspot.ca.

Until next time…..Let’s Tangle!
