Tag Archive: Tipple

This week’s challenge is Tipple , and according to Laura you either love it or hate it.  In that case, I’m on the “love it” side of the equation.  It is one of my favorite go-to tangles to fill odd spaces.  This, however, is the first time I’ve ever started with tipple and built around it.  Here’s what I came up with:

CHALLENGE-133

Tanglesl: Tipple, Printemps, Mooka, Pokeroot, Strircles, and Nipa

I was surprised when I finished to find that tipple ended up being a small part of the overall composition.  Oh, well!  tipple is wonderful, but it is a fill after all.  Be sure to go to the Diva’s website and check out all the other submissions.

Happy tangling!

I just got back last night from CZT ® Training from Zentangle.com ®, and I’m so hyped, I almost can’t stand myself.  I got home about 1:30 a.m. to Seattle (Rhode Island time), and still couldn’t go to sleep.  It was only 10:30 in Seattle, and both my sister and my husband wanted to know all about my trip.  My poor DH mostly wanted to know what about this experience was worth (his words) “all that money” it cost for me to go.  I tried to tell them, and all I got was blank stares.  What I finally had to say was…..”you just had to be there to understand it”.  I CAN’T put it into words.  Those of you who are already CZTs KNOW what I’m talking about.  Anyway, on to this week’s Diva Challenge.  I know I’m late, and I missed last week, and didn’t want to miss another one.

This week’s Diva Challenge was to use the tangle IX, a brand new tangle from Rick and Maria.  I had never drawn this tangle before, so the first one below is a monotangle I did just to learn the tangle.  The second one I did to “multi-task”, since I’m taking Marie Browning’s MCC class on zentangles, and it’s all about shading this week, plus a few tangles she demonstrated.

Here’s the first one.

Here is the second one.

Tangles: IX, Cubine, Tipple, Nzepple, and Star Snail and a tangleation of it by Marie Browning.

That’s all I’ve been able to do so far.  It is already Thursday, and I wanted to get something posted.  Now I’ve got to try to make as many comments as I have time for on the 50 or so that are already posted.  Yikes!  Have a great rest of the week, and if you are inclined to leave me a comment it will be most sincerely appreciated.  I absolutely love the world of Zentangle!!!

Until next time, Happy Tangling.
